The month of May was jam-packed with holidays, and June had a share as well, but we take a break from all that in July. However, July does have a lot of yearly events celebrating Mexican culture in other states: The Gueleguetza in Oaxaca, The National Fair of the Huasteca in San Luis Potosí, Feria Nacional in Durango, Fiestas de la Vendimia (festival of the harvest of grapes) in Queretaro, International Folklore Festival in Zacatecas… The list goes on- just not in the state of Guerrero.
That’s all great- and who doesn’t love a good road trip- but what will be celebrated in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo?
There is one “holiday” that we DO celebrate here in July: SUMMER VACATION BEGINS JULY 10th! While national tourism has sustained our area, mostly on weekends, for the past several months- it is the next 6 weeks of summer vacationers that will be crowding our beaches, just like it is Up north with family summer vacations.
